Q - Do you have a marching band?

A - No, we do not march at RCS, but we have an active Pep Band that plays at many home football and basketball games.

Q - Can I do music and sports?

A - Yes! Extracurricular commitments include 4 concerts per year as well as Pep Band Games (HS Concert Band only).

Q - What if my sport has a game that conflicts with Pep Band?

A - When scheduling all of our Fine Arts events, we take special care to avoid overlaps with the All-School and Sports calendar. Conflicts are minimal. If an RCS team has conference game/meet on the same night as a Pep Band performance, students will be excused from the Pep Band performance. (Team parties or social events are NOT excused).

*It is the responsibility of each student to present unavoidable conflicts to their director

at the beginning of the semester*

Q - Is there a fee required to participate in Fine Arts?

A - Yes and No. Visual Art classes have a small fee associated with each class in order to provide materials. Contact the Visual Art teachers for more details regarding current fees. Music classes do not have a yearly fee, however Honors Classes required professional concert attendance (fees responsible to each student). Theatre classes to not have a fee, but extra-curricular RCS Theatre productions do have a participation fee (per production).

*Instrumental students are required to provide their own instrument either through purchase or rental.*

*In some cases, school instruments are available for a yearly fee.*

Q - Is participation in extra-curricular programs/events required?

A - Yes. The schedule for the entire year is available on the first day of school - and rarely changes throughout the year. Especially in music and theatre, what we do is a group project. We depend on each other, and therefore all students are required at our performances/events.
